Carlos William Duckworth

Mr. Carlos William Duckworth, 99, of Cook St., Blairsville, Ga., died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness.

Mr. Duckworth was born Oct. 20, 1908 in Union County, Ga., the son of the late Steve Duckworth and the late Ellen Eller Duckworth. He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Kelley Duckworth; brothers, Buford, Vanus, Rufus, Sherman and Ransom Duckworth; and sisters, Della Tanner, Bertha Holbrooks and Ardella Duckworth. Carlos loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and most of all, he loved his Lord. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him. Mr. Duckworth was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Duckworth is daughter, Betty Hood of Blairsville; son and daughter-inlaw,

Tommy and Donna Duckworth of Ducktown, Tenn.; grandchildren, Tina Long, Tara Young, Cindy Hall, Gail Hall, Faith Rutledge, Tommy Duckworth Jr., William Duckworth and Bryan Duckworth; ten greatgrandchildren; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Harmony Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Stacy Dyer, Rev. Tommy Seay and Rev. Hubert Legg officiating. Special music was presented by Heather Henderson and Carol Renshaw. Pallbearers were Justin and Jerick Young, Paul, Tony, Jordan and Joseph Hall and Travis Rutledge. Honorary pallbearers were Brent Long and William Young. Interment followed in the Blairsville City Cemetery.
