Ronnie James Nelson

Mr. Ronnie James Nelson, 56, of Brown Bridge Rd., Clermont, Ga., formerly of Union County, Ga., died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 at his home following a brief illness.

Mr. Nelson was born Sept. 1, 1951 in Cherokee County, N.C., the son of Dimple Everett Nelson and the late Jerald Thomas Nelson. He was lifelong resident of Union County and attended Union County School System and was of the Graduating Class of 1970. Ronnie was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Baugh; and a brother, Robert Lanham. Mr. Nelson was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Nelson is his mother, Dimple Everett Nelson of Blairsville; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Brenda Nelson of Blairsville; sisters and brother-in-law, Jerri Rogers of Blairsville, Debbie and Rex Owenby of Blairsville, Linda Kinnersley of Loganville, Ga., Gloria Thompson of Gainesville; several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Randolph Jones officiating. Special music was presented by the Kelly Trio. Pallbearers were Rex Owenby, Ryan Owenby, Tim Kinnersley, Jimmy McCollum, Brian Guffey and Tim Nichols. Interment followed in the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery.
