Cans For Kids Cans For Kids Food Drive...because no one should go hungry! As we begin preparing for holiday festivities, there are members of our community who will struggle to have the means to prepare their family's next meal. Many local food pantries across the state have become depleted in the past few months. This holiday season Union County Emergency Medical Services, under sponsorship of DHR - Region V EMS, is holding a canned food drive to be donated to "The House of Prayer" food pantry. The food drive, titled "Cans for Kids," will hopefully bring in more than enough food to restock the church's pantry and have additional food for families n need during and after the holiday season. "Cans for Kids" is an annual food drive to support families and children that are less fortunate. In only one year, more than 20,000 cans were collected and distributed to families across the state. This ear, Region V EMS, Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMS-C) and EMS services across the state are hoping to raise more canned goods than in previous years and brighten up the holiday season for families in need. Please help families in need in Union County to enjoy the holiday season by donating canned goods at the local drop off points listed below. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Union County Emergency Medical Services at 706-781-3178. Local drop off areas: Union County Emergency Medical Services, Union County Fire Dept., Bi-Lo Grocery Store, Save-a-Lot Grocery, Foodland Grocery, Dollar General (Ivylog Rd) and Rite-aid Pharmacy. |
