Republican Party Ninth District Many of my friends, and family, call themselves "Democrats." Not like Hillary, they are quick to point out, however. Nevertheless, they are proud of their Democratic heritage and not ready to change now. I am often asked, "Why change to being a Republican? What is a Republican anyhow?" Usually I tell them to just look in the mirror to see what the Republican Party in Georgia is today. Jeff Foxworthy recently spoke at the Republican Party Chairman's dinner, and as a tribute to him I propose the following: You might be a Republican if….. … you believe in God and that all people are created by and are equal before Him and that we are endowed by Him with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. There is no room for "super citizens" who have more rights and benefits than the rest but no accountability. … you believe that God, your church, your family, and the sweat off your brow are the bedrock of the American way of life and it is there that we must look first in times of trouble and hardship, not to government. … you believe that our Constitution is the second best document inspired by God but that it has been twisted and perverted for illegitimate ends. … you believe that government is necessary to do limited things that we can't do ourselves, but not to take over everything. And the best government is the smallest government. … you believe that taxes should be no higher than necessary to achieve the legitimate goals of government. … you believe that judges, politicians, and bureaucrats should not be telling US what to do- we should be telling THEM what we need and THEY should be doing it. … you believe that the American free enterprise system is the best in the World and has allowed us to rise to the top, and government regulation, like taxes, should be limited to legitimate goals, not social engineering. Democrats in Washington and Atlanta may say they agree with these principles but they do not. They think that they are smarter than you and know what is good for you. They think that they know what will make you happy more than you do. They are willing to use any method to achieve their ideal social goals- including bypassing democracy entirely. For them, one size of government fits all. The size is extra large. The cost of running that government is all the money you have. While you are working to support yourself and your family, you are supporting them and their families who are not working. Democrats want Hillary as president and Bill on the Supreme Court so they can control the whole country because they know more than you do. Democrats aren't less American than we are. They just believe in a lesser America than we do. Join the "right" party. Log onto www.gagop.org, www.gagop9.org, or www.epaulstanley.com for more information about your Republican Party.
