Peggy Sherman Smith

Mrs. Peggy Sherman Smith, age 83, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia

Mrs. Smith was born Tuesday, October 14, 1924 in Miami, Florida, to the late Ira Sherman and the late Agnes Bartley Sherman. She was a former auxiliary volunteer for the Haywood County Hospital in Waynesville, North Carolina, and was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Smith, three sisters and one brother.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Smith of Melbourne, Florida; son, Joseph Smith, Jr. of Orange Park , Florida; daughter, Geralyn MacLeod of Lawrenceville, Georgia; daughter, Cathy Conlin

of Jacksonville, Florida; son, William Smith of Blairsville, Georgia; sister, Mary Mills of Blairsville, Georgia; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, niece, Paula Holley, nephews, A.G. Sherman and Charles Mills, all of Blairsville.

Memorial services were held Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Blairsville with Rev. Bill Honaker officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to American Kidney Foundation.
