Smoke fire at BVR In the middle of fighting the Cedar Knob fire, Towns County Firefighters answered a call at Brasstown Valley Resort on Saturday night, November 10, around 8 p.m. Tankers 1, 2, 6 and Tanker 2 answered the call. This fire had nothing to do with the Cedar Knob fire, although rumors were heard to the contrary. According to Manager Charles Burton, a power spike caused the melting of insulation in an electrical panel in the control room causing a good deal of smoke. This was cleared by fire department fans. Awedding party and other guests were evacuated, but later some returned to their rooms. Mobile generators are now in use and all repairs are expected to be completed by Tuesday, November 20. They are looking forward to serving the public on Thanksgiving and upcoming holidays. |
