New Chapel for Local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

The photo(s) are of the current state of construction on the chapel of the Murphy Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS). The chapel is located on Hwy. 141 in Peachtree. Attendance areas include Cherokee, Clay, and Graham counties in North Carolina and Georgia counties, Union and Towns.

When completed in March, 2008 the building will have been enlarged from the original 3,300 square feet to more than 7,000 sq. feet. The chapel will seat over 150 worshippers in pews. Total costs will not include mortgage or other interest

costs due to the church's practice of paying costs as soon as they are incurred. Such costs are paid through tithing of church members.

As building activities continue, church services will be moved into the Peachtree School gym. All are welcome to attend. Services on Sundays are at 10:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m., and 12:15 p.m.
