Barbara Lou Ward

Mrs. Barbara Lou Ward, 68, of Pleasant Hill Drive, Blairsville, Ga., died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 in the Gordon Hospital in Calhoun following a brief illness.

Mrs. Ward was born Dec. 3, 1938 in Jasper County, Ill., the daughter of the late Everett Pagel and the late Gatha Reeves Pagel. She had been employed with the North Georgia News for over 22 years. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Myra Jo Rexroad and a sister, Shirley Davis. Mrs. Ward was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving Mrs. Ward are daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Donnie Broome of Fairmount, Ga.; sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Susan Rexroad of Hayesville, Darrell and Amanda Suggs of Charlston, Ill.; sisters and brother-in-law, Wanda West of Blairsville, Dorothy and Herb Cole

and Lois Gaddey, all of Ill.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Doris Pagel, Delbert and Pauline Pagel, Jerry and Pat Pagel, all of Ill., Butch and Debbie Pagel of Blairsville and Kenneth Pagel of IL.,seven grandchildren, Brian, Ashley, Myra, Dereck, Sandy, Orren, Conner and John; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Leon McDonald officiating. Pallbearers were Butchie Pagel, Kenneth and Brent West, Randy Pagel, Orren Weaver, Dereck Broome, Brian Rexroad and Mike Montgomery. Interment followed in the House of Prayer Church Cemetery.
