"Creattiing A Backyard Habiittatt"

Watching wildlife can be fun and relaxing, and when you can view them from your own deck, it's even better. The right ingredients will bring mammals, butterflies and birds into your backyard. Our speaker will teach us how to understand the needs of wildlife and how to provide these in their correct placement. We will find out what vegetation is suitable for food and cover. There really is more to attracting wildlife than putting out a bird feeder. Come to this seminar to learn how to manager your land for wildlife.

Our Speaker

Jerry Hightower has been on the front lines to protect and conserve the environment and wild places since the mid-sixties. He has worked with top scientists, federal land management agency leaders, governors, members of Congress and even a President to insure that future generations might enjoy a healthy environment and special, wild places. He has been a U.S. National Pars Service Naturalist and Environmental Education Coordinator at the Chattahoochee River NRA for the last 30 years.

As a volunteer with the Georgia and National Wildlife Federations, Jerry Hightower began a pilot program in developing campus habitats and certifying Georgia schools with the National Wildlife Federation's Backyard Wildlife Habitat Program. As a result of the success of these efforts, Georgia is the number one state in the nation for schools certified with the National Wildlife Federation.
