NARFE contributes to Alzheimer's research

Several years ago NARFE decided to try to raise $5 million in donations for Alzheimer's research in 5 years. They met this goal ahead of time and decided to increase it to $7 million in 7 years. Having met that goal has now raised the bar to $8 million.

Do to the bickering in Congress it appears that legislation supported by NARFE to correct the injustice of penalizing retired federal employees by the Social Security Administration and to ease the burden of health insurance premiums for federal and military retirees will have to wait until the second half of the 110th congressional session. This is not the first time that the inaction by Congress has delayed implantation of this essential legislation but we won't give up, we will try again.

The Brasstown Bald chapter of NARFE will meet at 11:45 on Tuesday November 13th at Grinds-N-Glazes, 233 Hwy 515, Blairsville. Current or retired federal employees, their spouses or survivors, are welcome to attend.
