Girls take second Region Title in eight years

      Coach Jackie Hughes has led the Girls Cross Country squad to it's second Region Championship since 2000 (2000 was Union County's first season in Region 8AA) with a total of 61 points. Coming in second place was North Oconee. Dawson County finished third, and Rabun County rounded out the top four.

Region Title top priority for Boys Basketball Team

      Since 2000 the Union County Boys Basketball Team have been to state four times, won the sub-region four times, won twenty games three times, and finished as Region runnerup twice. However the one piece of hardware missing from the trophy case, during this decade, is a Region Championship.

Panthers to host Putnam Co. in final home game this Friday night

      Kolt Owenby connected with Blake Gowder for two touchdown passes as the Panthers (2-7) held a 14-7 lead late in the second quarter over the Titans of North Oconee (8- 1). Unfortunately North Oconee forced a Panther turnover with the Panthers on the North Oconee ten yard line.
