2007 Cadence Bank Classic

The Ridges Junior Tour had a spectacular day of golf with a split tournament to facilitate all the golfers. Cadence Bank, located in Blairsville, Georgia, hosted the tournament at the Ridges Resort and Golf Club for over 40 of the junior players in the under ten age group. Darrin Sparks, President of Cadence Bank, wished the players good play before they took to the links. Darrin also spoke to the organizing committee and noted that Cadence Bank is proud to be a 2007 tournament sponsor of the Tri-County Junior Golf Association. He thanked the association for running a program that teaches junior players the fundamentals of the game of golf as well as life's principles that can be used throughout their lives. Also present to greet the players and present them with golf trinkets were Lisa Weldon and Santha Wimpey, both of Cadence Bank.

The nine and under girls division showed consistent play by both the Martin sisters placing together for the second week in a row and the consistency of Allie Kumler for placing three out of the first five tournaments. The 10-12 girls also continue to see dominance with Amanda Thompson finishing first for the third time and Amber Williams and Jordon Ledford having now placed three times in the first five tournaments.

The eight and under boys division saw two new players in the winners column, those of Dante Curtis and Scott Cupit. Congratulations to both for their play. Play by the 9-10 boys division resulted a new first place winner of Oliver Allison, improving from sixth place last week. Placing for the first time this week was Samuel Utt from Clay County. Congratulations Samuel.
