Jack G. Reece
Mr. Jack G. Reece died Sat., Oct. 27, 2007 in the Northeast GA. Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 24, 1930 in Alpha, Ohio. Jack was in the Navy from 1948-1952, serving in Pearl Harbor and the Aleutians in 1950, Korean Conflict, and on to Sasebo Japan. After he was with National Cash Register for 20 years, then Allied Chemical, Prestolite Division in Bay City, Mich., until his retirement in 1981. Jack and Addie came to Blairsville (Lakeside Village) in 1987. Jack was active in the D.A.V. and a member of the V.F.W., was Sgt. at Arms of American Legion Post 121 and served in the North Georgia Honor Guard. He was Jr. Vice Commander of V.F.W. Post 234 in Ocean View Del, and Board of Director of the MI. Amvets. He was also a Master Mason 23rd
degree in Grand Lodge of Ohio Millennium 779, Valley of Dayton, Ohio, Scottish Rites. Surviving is his wife of 26 years, Adeline (Addie) Reece of Blairsville; stepson, Larry Hamlin of Las Vegas, Nev.; son, Jack Forest Reece of Columbia S.C.; daughters and sonsin law, Penny and Mike Adams of Kettering, Ohio., Polly and Applegate of Columbia; five grandchildren; one step grandson, Staff Sgt.Mark A. Hamlin, who died on Aug. 2, 1991.
No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the local D.A.V. in Mr. Reese's memory.
