Alex DiVita

Mr. Alex DiVita, 84, of Marietta, Ga., died October 24, 2007.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elisabeth Anne DiVita in 2005.

Mr. DiVita is survived by daughters, Sandra Watson (Glynn), Diane Frazier (Daniel), Barbara Duttenhaver and son, David DiVita (Mariana); nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In 1994, Alex and Betty moved from Doraville, Ga., to Blairsville where they became active members at the First United Methodist Church of Union County. Mr. DiVita was a U.S. Army veteran having served during WWII in the 44th Infantry Division in the European theatre. He was active in the North Georgia Honor Guard and the Veterans of Foreign Wars while living in Blairsville. He moved to Marietta in 2005 where he made his home at Spring Mountain Assisted Living.

A memorial service is scheduled at the First United Methodist Church of Union County on Saturday, November 17 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the Building Fund of the First United Methodist Church of Union County.
