Lloyd Clare Haist

Mr. Lloyd Clare Haist, 80, of Lance Crossing, Blairsville, Ga., died Wed., Oct. 24, 2007 at his home following a brief illness.

Mr. Haist was born June 23,1927 in Flint, Mich., the son of the late Clare Haist and the late Bertha Towne Haist. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy of WWII. He retired from General Motors with over 20 years of service. He was a member of the Eagles Club and the VFW in Vassar, Mich. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edwina Brown Haist in 2004. Mr. Haist was of the Lutheran faith.

Surviving Mr. Haist are sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Catherine Haist of Blairsville, John and Barbara Anderson of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; daughters

and sons-in-law, Sally Clare and Melvin Lockwood of Columbia, S.C., Terry and Tom Powell of Trenton, Fla.; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service was held Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at 3 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. James T. Paul officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Regency Hospice of Northeast GA. or to Humane Society's Mountain Shelter in Mr. Haist's memory.
