Cruisin' for the Kids

Cruise-In On The Square" will benefit the Blairsville Police Department's "Shop With A Cop" program.

Since 2006 the Blairsville Cruisers have worked very hard with the Blairsville Police Department to raise money for this great local charity which makes sure underprivileged kids in Union County have a great Christmas.

"Shop With A Cop" is an annual event held by the Blairsville Police Department where officers take needy kids shopping for Christmas. Wal-Mart gives the kids a generous discount on their merchandise and many children often shop more for family members than for themselves. It's a great local charity that helps give the whole county a "Christmas-y" glow! This year the Blairsville Cruisers have challenged their membership and the community to raise 10,000 dollars for this very important and special program.

The Saturday, November 3, Cruise-In will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and will feature music, door prizes, registration prizes and a 50/50 drawing where the winner will split the proceeds with the "Shop With A Cop" charity! As always, registration is free and your car entry will allow you a chance to win door prizes, gift certificates, baskets and more!

Come on out and admire the cars, dance to the music and support the businesses that keep the downtown area bustling! Buy a ticket or two; you never know what you

might win!

The November 3, Cruise-In will be this year's last chance to see beautiful machines line the historic square of downtown Blairsville but not the last chance to help the local children while having fun!

The Blairsville Cruisers are also planning a silent auction on December 1st directly after the annual Christmas parade and even Santa Clause himself is planning to show up for the event! The Blairsville Cruisers will also be seeking donations from local companies and private individuals for this heartwarming program, see upcoming details in next weeks newspaper to find how you can participate or contribute!
