Get that one-of-a-kind Christmas gift at the Mistletoe Market

Again this year's Mistletoe Market & Sugar Plum Tearoom will be held in the beautiful Conference Center at North Georgia Technical College in Blairsville, Georgia. The Blairsville campus of the College is located on the north side of Highway 76/515, just seven tenths of a mile west of the traffic light in Blairsville. There is plenty of free and convenient paved parking.

The Conference Center is an excellent indoor open area for the artists and crafters to display and sell their wares, plus the wonderful adjacent cafe area is well suited for the popular Tearoom. The Market and Tearoom will be open on Saturday, Nov. 17th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Sunday, November 18th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. This annual event is sponsored by the Mountain Regional Arts & Crafts Guild, Inc., a thriving organization of over 85 talented artists and crafts people from the surrounding 4 county areas.

"It's Christmas shopping time in the mountains." Fortyfive (45) high quality artists and crafters from the mountain of north Georgia, western North Carolina, and other cities in Georgia will be participating in this year's Market. There will be gold, silver & stone jewelry, stained glass, paintings, baskets, soft sculpture, photography, candles, furniture, wood turning, gourd art, pencil renderings, brooms, birdhouses, decorative painting, honey, knives and more. Each and every visitor is sure to find those special one-of-a-kind gift items that will thrill your friends on Christmas morning.

The ever-popular Sugar Plum Tearoom will be back again this year. The homemade goodies, salads, wonderful soups, sandwiches, and desserts are a delight for any palette. After shopping in the Market area, be sure to venture over the Tearoom for a relaxing lunch. Then take a final shopping tour through the Market for those "just remembered" purchases before you head home as a happy, successful, and refreshed early Christmas shopper.

There will be a $2.00 admission, which benefits the Guild's continuing effort to develop new and promising artistic talents in the local area.

Last year the Mountain Regional Arts & Crafts Guild, Inc. opened their ArtWorks Artisan Centre in Hiawassee, Ga. ArtWorks is a magnificent gallery of the fine art and hand made crafts of the Guild's members, plus offering an ongoing series of art and craft classes in its classrooms. ArtWorks Artisan Centre is open Mon - Sat at 308 Big Sky Dr., above & behind the Holiday Inn Express in Hiawassee. Come, browse, look for that special piece of art for your home, or take a class, you are always welcome at ArtWorks, where beauty abounds. A special thanks to the Towns County Tourism for their generous support.
