Ruby C. Hutchings

Mrs. Ruby C. Hutchings, age 81, of Blairsville, Georgia, formerly of Ft. Pierce, Florida, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2007. Mrs. Hutchings was a graduate of Florida State College for Women and Florida State University. In Florida, she had been a member of United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches in West Palm; and Lakewood Park United Methodist Church in Ft. Pierce. Mrs. Hutchings had been a teacher in public schools. She had lived in Blairsville for the past 12 years, and was a member of Hiawassee United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers.

Survivors include: husband, Lloyd H. Hutchings; daughter and son-in-law, Ruby and Noble Highsmith, step-son and his wife, Hugh and Gayla Hutchings, stepson, Gene Hutchings, sister, Caroline Richbourg, granddaughter, Ruby Frascatore, step-granddaughters, Kristy Hutchings and Sarah Hutchings. Several nieces,

nephews and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 19, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. from the Hiawassee United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jim Blair and Rev. Mike Cloyd officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial followed in Sparta Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to Hiawassee United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the Methodist Children's Home.
