Edwin Davis Singleton Jr.

Mr. Edwin Davis Singleton, Jr., age 76, of Honaker Rd., Blairsville, Georgia passed away on Monday, Oct. 8, 2008 in Atlanta following an extended illness. Mr. Singleton was born on April 1, 1931 in Lewis County, Ky., the son of the late Ed Davis Singleton, Sr. and the late Isa Walker Singleton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army of the Korean War. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was preceded in death by a son, Rocky Allen Singleton and by three brothers, Roy, Fred and Harry Singleton. Mr. Singleton attended the Blairsville Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving Mr. Singleton are his loving wife of 26 years, Shirley Childers Singleton of Blairsville, six children, Jimmy Singleton of Waycross, Ga., Lorene and R.D. King of S. Haven, Miss., Jennifer Flood of Texas, Ann Simon of

Louisville, Ky., David Evans of Vidalia, Ga., Bobby and Lisa Evans of Lions, Ga., one sister, Christine Bowen of Manchester, Ohio, one son and daughterin law, Donald and Ann Singleton of Mayesville, Ky., eight grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Danny Bohler officiating.

Special music was presented by Amber Wisdom and Joe West. The following gentleman served as pallbearers, Vernon Patterson, Al Bolewicki, Virgil Rowland, Jeff Stevenson, Daryl Casteel and Marvin Clark. Interment followed in the Meadow Hills Cemetery.
