Henry Edwin Fensterle Jr

Mr. Henry Edwin Fensterle Jr, 88, of Leslie Drive, Blairsville, Ga., died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007 at his home following an extended illness.

Mr. Fensterle was born Dec. 4, 1919 in Telford, Pa., the son of the late Henry E. Fensterle Sr. and the late Esther Miller. He retired in 1975 from the Dade County Fire Dept. as Assistant Chief. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army of WWII. He was a member of Oleeta Lodge #145 F&AM also a Past Commander of Mahi Shrine Temple & Legion of Honor Member, a member of Local 1403 Dade County Firefighters Union. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lendell Libby Fensterle in 2004. Mr. Fensterle was of the Lutheran faith.

Surviving Mr. Fensterle are daughter, Heida McGillis of Blairsville; sons and daughter-inlaw, Kurt Fensterle of Warne, N.C., Erick and Nena Fensterle of Blairsville; six grandchildren; many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date with interment following in the United Trinity Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Mr. Fensterle's memory.
