Fiddler's Convention this weekend

Reporting on the opening days of the Fall Festival at the Georgia Mountain Fairground, Manager Hilda Thompson said, "We've been up every day by 30% over last year, except Sunday and Tuesday. Friday our attendance doubled over last year with 4,656 paid attendance. Saturday, Crystal Gail had the Anderson Music Hall filled and paid attendance was 5,096."

The weather has been good so far and crafters are happy with sales. This weekend should bring good attendance for the Fiddler's Convention, a popular even each year. Thompson said she's looking forward to hearing Michael Cleveland and the Flame Keepers on Friday. Cleveland is a blind fiddler.

Admission is $8 (children under 10 free) and gate opens at 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. This Sunday will be the final day of the Fall Festival and the Gospel Singing at 11 a.m. in the music hall will feature the Diplomats, them at 2 p.m. will be The Isaacs, Chuck Wagon Gang,and The Diplomats.
