John Edwin Taylor

Mr. John Edwin (better known as Jack) Taylor, 75, of Ed King Rd., Blairsville, Ga., died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 from injuries received in an accident.

Mr. Taylor was born Aug. 14, 1932 in Greenfield, Mass., the son of the late Lee Taylor and the late Vince Temple Taylor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army of the Korean War. John had played Pro Ball with the Detroit Lions and had also coached for many church leagues over the years. He attended college at Worchester Academy. He loved to build and just being outdoors. Mr. Taylor attended the House of Prayer Church and also All Saints Lutheran Church.

Surviving Mr. Taylor is his loving wife of 30 years, Joan Krause Taylor of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Jo-Ann and Dennis Lewis of Miss.; sons, Joel Taylor of Blairsville, Jeffery Taylor of Tupelo, Miss., John Taylor of Brattleboro, Vt.; stepchildren, David Conner of Nicholson, Ga., Charlotte Fesler of Branford, Fla., Carole Harris of Rome, Ga., Victoria Grindstaff of Branford, Valerie Conner of

Pickens, S.C.; eight grandchildren,

three great grandchildren,

nine step grandchildren,

eleven step

great grandchildren;

many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Helton and Rev. Dave Wesche officiating. Pallbearers were Nicholas, Joel and Matthew Taylor, David Conner, Clarences Stewart and Joel Taylor. Interment followed in the Meadow Hills Cemetery with the North Ga. Honor Guard conducting Military Honors.
