Deborah Lynn Buck

Mrs. Deborah Lynn Buck, 47, of C.H. Colwell Drive, Blairsville, Ga., formerly of Cookeville, Tenn., died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 in the Union General Hospital following a sudden illness.

Mrs. Buck was born May 4, 1960 in Sparta, Tenn., the daughter of the late Joe Elmer Lafener and Lizzie Irene Duncan Lafener. Deborah was employed as a caregiver and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Lafener; sister, Mary Jo Sawyer; brother, Joe Lynn Hughes; grandson, Austin Rittenberry; grandparents, Amon and Oshie Mae Duncan, Richard and Maggie Jane Lafener. Deborah was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Buck of Blairsville; daughter, Lizzy Rittenberry of Dalton, Ga.; mother Liz Lafever of Cookeville; sisters, Shirley Philpot, Mary Winningham and Tonya Hensley, all of Cookeville, Irene Turner of Monterey; brothers, Joe Lafever of Cookeville and Robert Hughes of Dalton; grandchildren, Summer Rittenberry, Daniel Rittenberry and Megan Shelton, all of Dalton; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Dyer Funeral Home in Cookeville. Interment followed in the Wilhite Cemetery.
