Mountain Arts Association sponsors artist Ann Vasilik

Join watercolor artist, Ann Vasilik for a watercolor demonstration and lecture at Brasstown Valley Resort on Thursday, October 18, 2007, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Ann, who visited our area in 2005 and 2006 to a standing room only audience each time, has graciously agreed to another lecture.

She is a native of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and has received a bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Philadelphia College of Art. Ann has lived in Asheville, N.C., since 1988 and is a popular workshop instructor. She has taught and painted extensively throughout the Southeast, California, Hawaii and the Republic of the Philippines. Her commission works are in great demand and reproductions from her original paintings have gone all over the world.

Ann has served on the board of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina as the Western Region Director. In 2001, she was featured artist in a onewoman show at the Biltmore Gallery in Asheville, and she received 1st place in the prestigious Asheville Art League Winter Show 2000. This lecture is free to the public and refreshments will be served. The Mountain Arts Association mission is to create and support art related exhibitions, educational events and art appreciation in the tri-state mountain area. The organization also provides scholarships to students to encourage continuing education in the arts.
