Cooking with Barbara
Peanut Haystacks

I used to let my First Graders make these on our cooking days. They learned to read the recipe and follow the directions.

My oldest grandson, Nicholas loved to make them when he visited me. He is now 26 and has a job as a Aerospace Engineer in Arizona.

I really miss him. We have traveled the world over since he was sixteen. Now he travels with friends from college and work. He says I got him " hooked" on travel when he was young. Now I take my 14 year old and 16 year old to many countries.

PEANUT HAYSTACKS 3 Tablespoons smooth peanut butter

1- 3 ounce can of Chow Mein noodles

1- 16 ounce package Butterscotch morsels

1- cup peanuts

1. Melt peanut butter and Butterscotch morsels over low heat.

2. add noodles and peanuts to mixture and mix well, until well coated.

3. Form little clusters on foil and set in refrigerator.

Makes 24 clusters.

These make an great treat for Halloween, they sort of look like spiders. Try using Chocolate chip morsels for these.
