34th Annual Folk School Fall Festival a huge success
By DEBBIE WALKER Sentinel Writer

The John C. Campbell Folk School held their 34th annual Fall Festival this past Saturday and Sunday,October 6th and 7th. Located on the grounds of the Folk School in Brasstown, N.C., people turned out to sample the food, listen to the music and do a little shopping.

There were pony rides for the kids, a mule drawn wagon ride around the field, Alpacas to pet, and crafts to been seen.

Artisans and Folk School instructors held demonstrations at each separate venues. The kids ran

after their parents with hand made toys and or bags of kettle korn or fried dough. The smells traveled to the Festival Barn where the "Fall Festival Fairy" greeted you and gave you a Fall Blessing. The Folk School offered BBQ plates and BBQ chicken plates also.

Some of the musical acts that played over the course of the weekend were; Pure Profit, The John C. Campbell Cloggers, Irons in the Fire, Betty Smith and Sammy Walker to name a few. Both Festival Barn and Craft Stages were performing at the same time so music was heard all over the grounds, as well as the sounds of Drums from another group in the Market place.

The weather was a balmy weekend, and some of the vendors were glad, because they said it usually is cold and sometimes rainy, though we sure do need the rain.

People of all ages enjoyed the Festival, even the four legged ones came out with their owners to be petted by total strangers.

So mark your calendars for next years 35th Annual Fall Festival. It is always a big enjoyed event!
