Day of Grace Baptist Church hosts The Greesons in concert Nestled at the foot of Lookout Mountain in the historical town of Chickamauga, Georgia comes a southern gospel group who has a desire to foremost serve God and to lead others to the Savior whom they serve. The Greeson's have been serving God grouped as they are since the middle 80's. The group consists of Tony Dykes (lead), Lisa Dykes (alto), Darrell Demastus (bass), Karen Demastus (soprano) and the latest addition Joey Demastus (lead/baritone). Originally, the group also consisted of Lisa and Karen's parents, Reverend Herschel Greeson and his wife Elon. However, in 1999, Herschel was called to pastor so He and Elon left the road and have been greatly involved in their church ministry ever since. The children carry on the southern gospel tradition and continue to travel and spread the wonderful news about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They travel nationally and do approximately 90 to 110 dates a year. If you ask any of The Greesons about their ministry they will not hesitate to tell you that they do not claim any of the credit but they give all of the credit to Jesus Christ and they want Him to get all of the praise. 'Our goal, whether in concert or in a church, is to see souls come to know the Lord. That is what we come for and that is what we wish to accomplish in our singing. Please keep us in your prayers as we travel and spread the news about the coming of our Lord and Savior.' Day of Grace Baptist Church invites everyone to join them on October 14, at 11:00 a.m. to worship with one of southern gospel's best family groups, The Greeson's. For more information please contact Pastor, Jeremy Henderson, at 706-897-0493. Directions: From the square in Blairsville, take Pat Haralson Memorial Dr. Turn right onto Sawmill Rd. Church will be on the left. |
