Opal L. Sullivan

Miss Opal L. Sullivan, 90, of Liberty Church Rd., Blairsville, Ga., died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007 in the Union County Nursing Home following a brief illness.

Mrs. Sullivan was born Aug. 31, 1917 in Union County, Ga., the daughter of the late William J. Sullivan and the late Sara Hood Sullivan. She was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. She retired in 2003 with over 60 years of service as an office manager with Hiawassee Hardware in Towns County. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lynn Clark in 1994. Mrs. Sullivan was a member of Choestoe Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Sullivan are sisters, Mildred Eaton of Blairsville, Bobbie Lowenthal of Newnan, Ga.; nieces and nephews, Jesse and Mary Collins of Blairsville, Jim Clark of Blairsville, Carl and Kay Lowenthal, Lynn Black of

Palmetto, Ga.; ten grand nieces

and nephews, nine greatgreat

nieces and nephews;

many other relatives and

friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 14, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ken Zollinger and Dr. Troy Acree officiating. Special music was presented by Rita Hooper and Jeanie Pyle. Interment followed in the Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery.
