Jonathan Virgal "Fate" Hancock

Jonathan Virgal "Fate" Hancock, 20, of Murphy, N.C., died Monday, September 10, 2007.

He was a native of Union County, Ga., where he had lived until moving to Cherokee County a year ago. He was a 2006 graduate of Union County High School. He was presently working as a cook for Brother's Restaurant. He was of the Baptist faith. His hobbies included camping, basketball, and enjoying time with his family and friends.

Surviving are his parents, Virgal and Don-Ann Coleman Hancock of Marble, Ga.; brother, Jeffrey Thomas Hancock of Murphy, N.C.; a half-sister, Holly Ann Coleman of Murphy; his paternal grandfather, Marvin Virgal Hancock of Ellijay, Ga.; his

paternal grandmother, Fay

Elizabeth Payne of

Blairsville, Ga.; his

maternal grandfather,

Don Coleman of Murphy; his maternal

grandmother, Barbara

Lanning Coleman; a

nephew, Elias Tefft of Murphy; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 14 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home in Murphy with the Rev. Dallas Crowder officiating.

Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy in charge of all arrangements.
