The event consists of a 10K road race and a 1-mile fun run. The 10K race is over a scenic but challenging out and back course through the north Georgia mountains. The 1-mile fun run is also out and back along an essentially flat course. All runners in the 10K will receive a high quality long sleeve T-shirt; fun run participants will receive a similar short sleeve shirt. Awards in the 10K are two deep, male and female in six age categories. Entrance fees are $15.00 for the 10K and $5.00 for the 1-mile run as well as overall male and female first place. A downloadable application is available on the community website: www.suches. com and registration can be also be completed on race day. For more information , contact Jim Miner at 706-747-5434 or email miner@windstream.net. The races are part of the two day Indian Summer Festival which is a homey craft fair, featuring traditional and contemporary crafts, all day country music, good things to eat - including some of the best barb que to be found anywhere, a play by students of Woody Gap elementary grades and an old fashioned square dance on Saturday night. All proceeds from the festival and the race go to support the Wood Gap School, the smallest pubic school in the state.

Come out to Suches October 6 & 7 to participate in the race, enjoy the festival and see the beautiful north Georgia mountains and support the Woody Gap School.
