John Berlin Adams

Mr. John Berlin Adams, 87, of Blairsville, Ga., died Friday, August 24th, 2007, in Stonehenge Assisted Living Center in Blairsville.

Mr. Adams was born in Monroe County, Florida, on Thursday, July 8, 1920, a son of the late John Berlin Adams and Annie Cedele Russell Adams. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines Corps, and served during World War II, in Iwo Jima. He had been preceded in death by his wife, Maurine Strickland Adams.

Surviving family members include a son, Charles Adams, of Miami; and a daughter, Maurine Gregory, of Blairsville; grandchildren: Heather Lusk, Kent Adams, John Ledford Gregory, and Thomas Gerald Gregory; two great grandchildren also survive, along with many friends and other relatives.

Memorial Services were held on Monday, September 10, 2007, at 10:00 a.m., at the Old Rock Sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Blairsville, with Dr. Fred Lodge officiating. Military Honors were presented by North Georgia Honor Guard.
