Air Rescue 1 goes down in Greenville, S.C.
     Tying to land in a soccer field to check a fuel problem, Air Rescue 1 that is based in Blairsville, was apparently flipped by a tailwind. A pilot and two others were aboard, but not seriously injured. The nurse aboard was reportedly taken to the hospital with a shoulder injury.

UCB employees work to bag cancer
      United Community Bank employees, Sharon Arnold and Shannon Foster, bagged groceries at the Blairsville Bi-Lo on Saturday, September 1st to raise funds for the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. Sharon and Shannon raised a total of $661 in tips during their 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. shift.

Beta Sigma Phi- Beginning Day Tea
      The Georgia Iota Iota Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held their Beginning Day Tea on August 17 at the Cadence Bank in Blairsville. Hosts for the tea were Lynda Keener and Carolyn Southard. Fifteen members attended with two guests. Seven members from Kappa Alpha chapter also attended the tea.
