Do you need a ride to and from your treatment sessions? A lack of transportation should not be the reason why cancer patients do not receive the life-saving cancer treatment they need. The American Cancer Society offers their Road to Recovery program to help transport cancer patients to and from their treatment. The Society has a toll-free number that you may call, and an operator will put you in touch with local volunteers that give cancer patients without personal transportation rides to and from their cancer treatment sessions. Misty Mountain Quilt Guild Misty Mountain Quilt Guild of Georgia - North Carolina will have their bi-annual quilt show October 12 & 13, 2007 at North Georgia Technical School in Blairsville, Ga. In addition to the quilt show, you will have an opportunity to shop at our boutique full of handmade items or purchase quilting supplies from vendors. There will also be a silent auction of fabulous mini-quilts. The drawing for our beautiful king size quilt, "Stars Over Georgia", will be held on the last day of the show. Appalachian Highland Games The Seventh Annual Appalachian Highland Games and Festival will be held Sept. 8, 9 a.m. at the Andrews Recreation Park off US Business 19, Andrews, Cherokee County, NC. Admission is $7, but ages 12 and under are admitted free.While the Highland Games competitions anchor this event, also planned are sheep herding demonstrations, a Frisbee dog show, food, Scottish tartans, crafts and much more. Blood work will be drawn 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. to include CBC (Complete Blood Count), CMP (Comprehensive Metabolic Profile), Lipid profile (HDL, LDL, Triglycerides), TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) all for $25. You will learn an easy way to help pull and release pain and/or trauma from the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. "Traumapull" techniques are known to help during or after surgery, dental work, and stress. They can also help release longstanding emotional/spiritual blocks relating to forgiveness, judgement, and prosperity. This is a non-invasive hands-on method. If you have a longstanding situation, it will take more than one session, so it would be nice if you can learn to work with a friend that you trust.
