Poker Run Fun
Volunteers needed

Support in Abusive Family Emergencies, Inc. is gearing up for its Sixth Annual S.A.F.E. Poker Run, and volunteers are needed to make this event a success. The Poker Run will begin with registration from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on October 6, at North Georgia Technical College. The ride will leave from the college at 11 a.m., and should finish by 2 p.m. at Copperhead Lodge. After the ride there will be a cook-out and a concert at the Copperhead Lodge amphitheater.

Volunteers are needed to help with registration, to man one of the five stops along the ride, help with food before and/or after the ride, promote the event by passing out flyers or making signs, help with early registration, assist with door prize collections, sell raffle tickets and many other needs. For those who do not ride motorcycles, the concert and cook-out will be open to the public. Proceeds will assist S.A.F.E. in its mission to provide support, advocacy and emergency shelter to victims of domestic abuse, child abuse, and sexual abuse, regardless of gender, and to heighten community awareness of such abuse in Towns and Union Counties.
