Blue Jeans for Literacy

The first week of September is Literacy Week in Georgia. TULIP (Towns Union Literacy Instills Pride) will kick off a literacy program called "Blue Jeans for Literacy" during this week. The way this program works is a "Blue Jeans for Literacy" sticker is given for donations to TULIP. The employer or owner of a business or other organization agrees to allow the donator to wear blue jeans to work on a given day.

Donations of $1.00 for the sticker entitles the person a comfortable day at work. Many businesses call this day the "dress down" day and employees enjoy the informality.

This program is an annual Event that benefits Literacy Organizations within the Towns and Union County area. It will continue throughout the month of September. Anyone interested in participating can call Charles Sowers at 706-781- 3944 or 706-745-5123.
