Enchanted Music on the Square wraps up season in Hiawassee

Another great Season for "Enchanted Music on the Square"! And another opportunity to say a heartfelt Thank You to all those whose generous time and efforts helped to "pull it all together"! Our sound man, Ronnie Moffet did a terrific job, as always. Thanks to Gale Eaton and Merle Shook for providing and serving all that yummy Summertime refreshment in the way of ice cream and hot dogs (look for even more embellishments next year!) JoAnne Leone graced us as Emcee for two concerts, with her never-ending supply of humor and positivity! Thanks to Mrs. Tiger of Anderson's Store for her support, and to the efforts of the Garden Club, for making our Hiawassee Town Square come alive with blooms all Summer! Thanks also to Mayor Barbara Mathis for generously allowing OTM to use the Town Square and Gazebo to present the Saturday performances.

A special thanks to Joan Crothers of the Towns Sentinel, who made sure that we had "front page" publicity every week and to the editors of the Union Sentinel and Towns Herald for covering our events. We so much appreciated the generosity of the Appalachian Bank of Blairsville for providing the large canopy for our dance evening.

The concerts would not have happened without the tireless efforts of it's "creator", Eugene Jakel, who also acted as Emcee for most of the performances. Rachel Caviness and Mardi White formed a great partnership, lining up and booking the various performers for the concert series. Thanks Ladies! And hugs to Sally Varao, for coordinating a very successful Red Cross Fundraiser and for generously helping out at the Towns Co. Idol evening! A big thanks to Steve Cooper (our own "Elvis") and to all the performers and musicians who volunteered their talents, and especially to those who stepped in at the last minute to replace canceled bookings!

Most of all, a HUGE thanks to all of you who came to the performances and gave your support through regular attendance and generous donations to help with the many and various costs involved in presenting the concert series. You are THE BEST!

Have a wonderful Fall and Winter Season everyone. We'll see you next Spring when the Music begins again! Mardi White, President OTM Committee, Inc.
