Doc Aspy
Mr. Doc Aspy, 82, of Blairsville, Ga., died Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at his home.
Mr Aspy was born Tuesday, September 30, 1924 in Hollywood, Fla., to the late Doc Ernest Aspy Sr. and the late Della Johns Aspy. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville and was a WW II Navy Veteran.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Ruth Aspy of Blairsville; sons, Dale Aspy of Marietta, Ga., and Dennis Aspy of Woodstock, Ga.; Several nieces, nephews, and many friends and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the Rock Chapel of First Baptist Church of Blairsville with the Dr. Fred Lodge and Rev. Danny Parris officiating. Music was provided by Jackie Hill, Homer Payne and Linda Ballard. Interment followed in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga. Pallbearers were Homer Payne, Lyman Johnson, Carl Johnson,
Carl Priem, Curtis Richardson
and David Kemp.
Honorary pallbearers
were Leon Davenport
and Rev. Bethel
Buchanan.
The family received friends at the Rock Chapel of First Baptist Church of Blairsville from 10-11 a.m., Friday, August 24.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to either; Regency Hospice of Northeast Georgia or to First Baptist Church Frances Ballard Scholarship Fund or to the First Baptist Church Benevolence Fund.
