Edith Faye Grizzle
Mrs. Edith Faye Grizzle, 88, of Nichols Circle, Blairsville,Ga., formerly of Gainesville, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Mrs. Grizzle was born June 6, 1919 in Lumpkin County, Ga., the daughter of the late Arch Shope and the late Maude Mason Shope. She had lived in Gainesville from 1945 to 1999 then moved to Blairsville. She had retired from Johnson & Johnson (Chicopee Cotton Mill) after over 32 years of service. She was preceded in death by sisters, Ella Wilson, Ida Wilson and Gertrude Holland; brother, Wrestle Shope. Mrs. Grizzle was a member of the Northside Church of God in Gainesville.
Surviving Mrs. Grizzle are son and daughter-in-law, Clifton (Clifford) and Mildred Grizzle of Blairsville; daughter and son-inlaw, Mildred Faye and Y.D. Helton; sisters, Edna Grizzle, Vennie Graham and Blanch Keith, all of Gainesville, Virdell Jordan of Conyers; brother, Fread Shope of Gainesville; grandchildren,
Joyce Franklin, Melanie
Parker, Annette Holland,
Lisa Standrige and
Kellie Loggins; nine
great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Memorial Park funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Rudy Tumlin officiating. Special music was presented by Marty Moody. Pallbearers were Dennis Walker, Alan Black, Rex Jones, Ricky Standrige, Justin Standrige and Cody Loggins. Interment followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville.
