Savage appointed WNGM Manager

Mike Savage has joined Hiawassee radio station WNGM AM 1230 as Station Manager, according to the station's broadcast consultant, Tom Stanwood.

"Mike Savage brings to WNGM over 12 years of professional broadcast experience covering news, public affairs, station management and operations," said Stanwood.

Savage is an award-winning journalist with a Masters Degree in Mass Communications. Prior to accepting his WNGM position Savage served as WPPR station manager and journalism profession for Georgia Public Broadcasting and Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia.

Earlier, according to Stanwood, Savage hosted NPR's All Things Considered and served as news anchor at Georgia Public Broadcasting in Atlanta, Georgia.

After graduating with a Broadcast Degree from Georgia State University, Savage obtained his Masters from Miami University in Ohio.

"I am passionate about broadcasting and serving our communities will give me great satisfaction," Savage said.

WNGM broadcasts its "classic hits" music format 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1230 on the AM dial. The station's signal extends from Hiawassee, Young Harris, Blairsville, Hayesville and other parts of Georgia and North Carolina. WNGM's programming is streamed continuously over the internet and can be hear by accessing www.wngm1230.com
