Mountain Music/Arts Day Festival If you love music; old time mountain, bluegrass, folk and gospel music we encourage you to attend "Mountain Music/Arts Day Festival" at Vogel State Park on Saturday, September 8, 2007. Music groups are "Baldwin & Haney, Jordan Harrison, The Bennie Shook Family, Ed Teague & Friends, Buck and Nelson and Phil Tanner & The Skillet Lickers." Crafters & demonstarator's exhibits will open at 10:00 a.m. Music will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the last performance beginning at 4:00 p.m. Crafters will be displaying and selling quality crafts. Spinning stained glass, basket weaving, painting, tin punching and woodcarving will be demonstrated the entire day. Vogel State Park is located 11 miles south of Blairsville, Ga., on Hwy. 129. There's something for all ages at Vogel's "Mountain Music/Arts Day Festival"! The setting in the mountains overlooking Lake Trahlyta is beautiful, with Blood Mountain, the highest peak in Georgia on the Appalachian Trail, in the background. The fees for the festival will be $5.00 for adults, $2.00 for children 12 and under. No Pets Allowed. There will be a $3.00 park pass fee per vehicle upon entering the park. Shuttle service will be available from distant parking areas at no additional fee. The Vogel Volunteers, Inc., will provide food concessions. There will also be a raffle for a Union County Historical throw/blanket. All proceeds are used for park programming.
