Rotary in Motion:
Rotary District Governor speaks to local club

aDistrict Governor Nathan Carmack spoke recently to the Rotary Club of Union County.

Nathan is a thirty plus year member of the Athens Rotary Club. Positions held include Director and President of the club. During his year as President, the club inducted the most new members ever brought into the club in a single year. The club was awarded the Significant Achievement Award by Rotary International President Carlo Ravizza due to all of the accomplishments during the millennium year. He received the Rotary Foundation District Service Award in 2005.

Nathan spoke to the Union County club about goals for the upcoming year. He encouraged the local club to press forward with Rotary's desire to make this world and our community a better place for all.

Members of a Rotary club are part of a diverse group of professional leaders working to address various community and international service needs and to promote peace and understanding throughout the world.

Nathan closed by offering the club members 3 ways to make good use of their time and each day we have. 1st, Take time for self improvement, 2nd, Take time to develop friendships, and 3rd, Take time to do something for someone else.

The Rotary Club of Union County has special guest speakers every week with a wide variety of interesting topics covering local, state, national, and international subjects.
