UCB helps keep seniors safe behind the wheel

Staying safe and alive on the roads is important to everyone, particularly the families of senior citizens who get behind the wheel everyday. To promote and reward driver safety for seniors, United Community Bank recently provided breakfast and lunch for those who attended the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) '55 Alive Mature Driving Course' sponsored by the bank on August 8th & 9th.

Thirty-two drivers attended the course, which was held in the United Community Bank Community Room each day from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The program, developed by AARP, allows drivers age 50 and older to save money on insurance premiums and helps each individual to reduce the possibility of driving accidents.

The 55 Alive Driving Course is offered twice a year and is scheduled again on December 5th and 6th. For more information, or to sign up for the December session, please call Linda Jirik or Kellie Collins at United Community Bank, 706-745-2151 ext. 2147.
