John Brandon Price Mr. John Brandon Price, 82, of High River Rd., Hiawassee, Ga., died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007 at his home following a brief illness. Mr. Price was born Nov. 15, 1924 in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Donald John Price and the late Maybelle Brinkworth Price. He had retired to the tri-state region after a career as an international consultant with the international operations of Ford Motor Company and Oflin Corporation. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army of WWII European Airborne and was the Youngest Army Officier serving in WWII. He had been living in the Murphy and Hiawassee area since 1989 moving here from Lee County, where he served as Management Analyst fro the Lee County Governement. He was a member of MENSA. In retirement, he has authored poetry columns in newspapers of Florida, North Carolina and Georgia, and published poems in numerous poetry journals. He loved to dance, and he and his dancing partner, Pennie Hebble taught Ball Room Dancing at Oasis for over six years. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Branaman Price in 1988. Mr. Price attended the Blairsville First United Methodist Church. Surviving Mr. Price are sons and daughters-in-law, Brandon and Susan Price of Cary, N.C., Kevin and Deborah Price of Fairfield, Conn., Leigh and Julie Price of Sandy Hook, Conn.; sister-in-law, JoAnne Branaman of Murphy, N.C.; grandchildren, Dave,Michael, Adamd, Jeff, Michael, Steven, Lisa, Sara and Jonathon, very special friend and dancing partner Pennie Hebble of Blairsville; nine grandchildren; many other relatives and friends also survive. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ben Lewis officiating. Special music will be presented by Keith DeFore and Jeff Bowman. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society in Mr. Price's memory.
