Chester Robert Lapeza Jr.

Mr. Chester Robert Lapeza Jr., 62, of Three Point Drive, Blairsville, Ga., formerly Dacula, Ga., died Thursday, August 9, 2007 at his home following an extended illness.

Mr. Lapeza was born May 24, 1945 in Savannah, Ga.,the son of Betsy Webb Lapeza and the late Chester R. Lapeza Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army of WWII. He retired from the CDC as a Research Chemist with over 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Lapeza in 2005. Mr. Lapeza was of the Episcopal faith.

Surviving Mr. Lapeza are son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Chester R. and Amy Lapeza of Cordele, Ga.; sister-in-law, Judy Lapeza of Ocean Isle, N.C.; grandchildren, Chester Robert Lapeza IV, Elijah Curtis Lapeza; many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mr. Lapeza's memory.
