To the Editor:

I would like to say what a wonderful and beautiful place Union County is. The rolling hills and the clean fresh air that we breathe are great. Have you ever gotten up early to see the sun come up over the hilltops? Or smelled the freshness of the morning air or just listened to the birds sing? They are beautiful sights and sounds. Sometimes I walk out on my porch where I live and I can see a big buck or doe grazing in the distance.

The crime rate here is still fairly low compared to the big city. The people are great about helping each other. For instance, back in 1993 I had third degree burns on my legs from an accident and could not walk for a while. Two of my neighbors knocked on my door to ask if it was alright if they could mow my yard for me until I could get back on my feet.

I just want to say thanks to all of the wonderful people who live here in this great community who still believe in keeping our county nice, clean and helping others. I have raised my two daughters here in this county and now my grandchildren are getting to grow up here as well. I believe Union County is a perfect place to raise a family.
