To the Editor:

A friend of mine was recently admitted to Union General Hospital in critical condition. She received EXCELLENT care while in the ER and ICU. The staff went "above and beyond". Of special mention was Dr. Michele Thompson, who not only provided competent care in the ICU, but also accompanied the patient (and ventilated her) in the ambulance to an Atlanta hospital - on her own time!

I am a nursing professor who has 40+ years in healthcare. I have seen the worst and the best. I continue to be highly impressed with the competent treatment and very caring attitude of the staff at Union General Hospital. We are blessed to have a very efficient small rural hospital that provides excellent care and also knows when to transfer.
