To the Editor:

I've had a long-standing appreciation and love for lilacs, and own some lovely lilac bushes that bless me with a profusion of blooms and sweet fragrance each spring. Recently I spoke with Commissioner Paris about the possibility of planting lilacs in Meeks Park and he has shown interest in the project and is giving the matter serious consideration.

In addition, we discussed ordering additional lilacs to be offered for sale to residents, who could buy one or two bushes at a cost of approximately $12 to $15 each (depending on size). Since the lilacs would have to be ordered in advance for planting in the Fall, it seems only prudent to "poll the community" to see if there is interest in this venture.
