Blairsville Scout Troop tackles Ocoee River

Blairsville's Boy Scout Troop 101 tamed the middle section of the Ocoee River last week. Nine Scouts and four adult leaders decided to combine white water adventure with summer fun. They traveled to Copper Hill, TN and ran the Ocoee River.

Several of the Scouts had previously run rivers including the Snake and Colorado Rivers. For some Scouts it was an adventure that opened up a whole new dimension in their lives.

Plans are already underway for next year's white water adventure - a two day trip down the Chattooga River. This trip's white water Scouts included: Wilson Warren, Andrew Brumley, T. Bentley, Andrew Service, Ian Service, Andrew Stevens, Matt Scott, Brandon Tucker and Joel Legg. Adult leaders on the trip were Nathan Parry, Elton Levinson, Terry Legg, and Chuck Amara.
