North Georgia Rapids Summer Wrap-up

The Blue Ridge Mountain Fitness Club's swim team, the North Georgia Rapids, completed their summer short course competition in grand style. The team traveled to Gainesville, Georgia and swam in drizzling rain for the final meet of the summer. The team did well, with all members earning ribbons. Neffe DeLaCruz took the top spot by winning the girls overall 10 and under age group, receiving a first place medal. The team will take a short break and then resume practice August 20 for the upcoming Fall/Winter season.

The team would like to take this opportunity to thank Assistant Coach Katie Thompson for her invaluable assistance in coaching this summer. Katie will soon be leaving to attend Georgia Southern University on a swimming scholarship and we all wish her the best.
