Richard Lee McAdams

Mr. Richard Lee (Mac) McAdams Sr., 78, of Holly Cove Circle, Blairsville, Ga., formerly of Winter Haven, Fla., died Saturday, July 21, 2007 at his home following an extended illness.

Mr. McAdams was born Jan. 31, 1929 in Greensboro, N.C., the son of the late Clarence and Jessie Wilson McAdams. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy of the Korean War. He was employed for over 30 years with Independent Life Insurance company. Richard enjoyed the beach and the mountains of North Carolina and Georgia. He loved to go camping and just sitting around a campfire. He spent many hours with his woodworking projects and his painting. He was preceded in death by brothers, Thaddeus and C.E. McAdams. Mr. McAdams was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. McAdams is his loving wife, Donna McAdams of Blairsville; son and daughter in law, Richard L. and Clare McAdams of Orlando, Fla.; daughter, Shelley Henderson of Tallahassee, Fla.; step daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and

Edwards, both of Lynn Haven; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles from N.C., and S.C.; many other friends and relatives also survive.

Aprivate family memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice in Richard's memory.
